Self reflection

Is it worth blogging, I wonder? I don't do it often enough and have too few followers or at least too few people prepared to comment so I feel for the most part that I am talking to myself, and there isn't much point to doing that! I talk to myself anyway usually in the morning when I'm agitated about something. If I want to say anything I may as well say it on FB. At least there I know there are people reading what I say!

Blogging is primarily about community. If you visit and comment on other blogs then people will reciprocate. Maybe FB is more accessible for you...

Hitler's last will and testament shows us that he thought he was serving the German people, and even more shockingly, so many Germans thought the same, it would seem. They seemed to think that the 'wrong' done them at the close of the First World War, a war which, if they did not start, they certainly did nothing to prevent and in fact their leaders encouraged, justified an even more terrible war of revenge twenty years later. This included a total disregard for international law and order in the pursuit of perceived grievances and the establishment of a 'Greater German' state to which they believed themselves to be entitled. Further the philosophy espoused by Hitler and his followers embraced the most barbaric prejudices rooted in the darkest beliefs from the darkest era in European history and culture. It is deeply troubling to me that mankind can allow itself to be influenced by such barbarism and perceive it to be an enlightened way forward, but as the Good Book says, the devil may disguise himself as an angel of light. It is a worrying indictment of the human condition, and shows our race to be capable of being immensely destructive as well as wholly perverse.
